Specifically, Howard Hesseman claimed Morrison got physical, grabbing her hair and smashing her face into a table. Eyewitnesses later agreed that Morrison started the trouble by insulting her during a game of pool (via " On the Road With Janis Joplin"). It was full strength heroin and she did not know.During a subsequent meeting at a party, Morrison and Joplin got into a violent altercation. His heroin was always “cut” the same way so she thought it was. So he had some dropped off to her per her request. Then one day, everything was just right, she was alone in her room, and her old heroin supplier was in town. But Jimi Hendrix dominated my time, and Eric Clapton with the band “Cream,” as well. I never was a fan of hers even though no one thought she was out of place in Rock. And besides, there weren’t many female super stars other than her, Sher and Joni Mitchell, pretty much.īut Joplin-even with the fact that Joplin was a part of the drug culture whereas the others aforementioned weren’t-(tmk)-nonetheless was surprising. ![]() ![]() When she died I never would have expected her to die from an overdose since she was a girl and girls just don’t do heroin drugs.
